Nokia E72 gets announced

I’ve been holding out on buying myself a Nokia E71 for the longest time now, and it seems my procrastination has finally paid off as Nokia just announced the E72.

Nokia e72

It sports a similar form factor with the E71, but adds a few design enhancements and hardware upgrades along the way. With a 5-megapixel autofocus camera, 10.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, an optical navi-key, and faster S60 FP2 OS, the Nokia E72 definitely ups the ante in terms of functionality. It’s expected to become available later this year for roughly P22K.

More after the break.

Jayvee got to attend the launch in Singapore and posted some hands-on pics and these videos of the Nokia E72 for everyone to enjoy.

There are two things I like about this announcement. First, I now have the option of getting a more full-featured device in the Nokia E72. Second, if ever I still decide to get the E71, I can now get it a more affordable price.

But then again, after the E72 is launched, I’ll just have to wait several months for its price to go down and I could just buy that one or wait for its successor to be announced to get more bang for my buck.
